2018年狗年賀歲，港式新年全盒裡有十種不同的狗，像台灣犬、網路社交平台上知名的犬，其中有年紀大被收養疼愛的，也有怪樣或可愛的。十犬不同各有美態，也值得我們愛護珍惜。
2018 is the Year of Dog in Chinese Lunar New Year. I made this painting to celebrate this year and say thank you to our best friends, families and companies- all lovely dogs.
In this painting, 10 different types of dogs are hanging out in a Chinese Lunar New Year Candy Box "Cyun Hap". It is a traditional box used for storing candy and other edible treats and shelling nuts. The traditional word "Cyun" means "to put together ", or "to bring together". By putting all the fortune candies in one place, a Cyun Hap symbolizes bringing luck together and wishing blessings for the coming years. The 8 essential sweets are candied fruits and veggies like lotus roots, coconut strips, carrots and lotus seeds... The Cantonese word for coconut sounds like grandfather and son.
The 10 doggies friends in this Candy Box are 10 famous dogs in social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Most of them have millions of followers in Instagram! They are not being followed only because of their cute faces and characters like @Boothedog the Pomeranian, @manny_the_frenchie the French Bulldog. Some may not have pure breed and perfect appearance, but they are still loved and cared by their owners.
For example, @Tunameltsmyheart are cross breed dog and being abandoned on street before meeting his loving owner in a Dog rescue center. @Marniethedog is a 16 year old female Shih Tzu senior rescue dog adopted by Shirley Braha. Although Marnie used to have some health issues problems, she accepted well care by Animal Shelter and her owner. Her health is greatly improved and now enjoying her respectful and happy life.
